Proving 24/7 personalised support from people who understand and value your culture and circumstances and who are committed to ensuring your success.
Killara mentors (coaches) are Aboriginal* & employed on a full-time basis. Your coach will work closely with you for 12 months and continue to support you for as long as you need it.
Coaches work with a maximum of 20 program participants which ensures high quality and personalised support. They help as much or as little as required across work life, personal life, housing support, cultural support or anything else that is needed.
Coaches build strong and lasting relationship and are always there for participants. This can include going with participants to appointments, providing a lift in their Killara vehicle, facilitating development opportunities and cultural connection, teaching you how to cook a new dish, or just having a yarn on the phone.
Coaches do not live in Killara housing - they live their own life but are available 24/7 to respond to any of their participants' needs.
*Killara only employs non-Indigenous coaches in special circumstances.
