The Student Experience Lead is responsible for a range of tasks associated with the administration of the student life cycle in the Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics) course and nested
degrees.

Role Summary

Position Title: Student Experience Lead

Time Fraction: 0.4 fraction (2 days per week)

Days/hours of work: Monday to Thursday as negotiated

Tenure Status: Continuing position, six-month probationary period

Remuneration: $59,280 pro – rata, plus 11% superannuation

Job summary

The Student Experience Lead is responsible for a range of tasks associated with the administration of the student life cycle in the Master of Leadership and Management (Organisation Dynamics) course and nested degrees.


Reporting relationships

The Student Experience Lead reports to the Administration Lead and the Master’s Course Lead or nominee as delegated.


Key Objectives

To ensure rigorous and high quality administration of the student life cycle and support students and teaching staff during semesters.


Specific accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain high quality student relations

  • Provide induction sessions and ongoing support for students to NIODA’s IT systems and work with staff to develop and / or locate support material for staff and students as necessary (developing tip sheets and / or creating tutorials, and finding the most relevant existing tutorials for Zotero and Turnitin, for example)

  • Create and manage systems (including record-keeping systems) to support students and staff across the student life cycle: admissions; technical orientations; general enquiries; results; evaluations; graduations; and other aspects as needed

  • Support master’s teaching staff in matters of administration

  • Manage administration of workshops and seminars

  • Management of the e-journal library collection

  • Taking meeting minutes

  • Other tasks in any of these areas as determined.


Key Selection Criteria

The following selection criteria are essential to the role of the Student Experience Lead:


Experience

  • Strong skills with a range of computer/digital platforms and capacity to adapt to new systems and platforms and teach others about them

  • Managing electronic records and supporting others navigate and use them

  • An understanding of the Australian higher education environment

  • Demonstrated experience in student or customer service

  • Managing systems (including record keeping systems) Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher. Personal abilities/skills

  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships

  • Ability to think quickly and problem-solve

  • Capacity to be collaborative in undertaking work tasks

  • Able to work independently and be self-directed

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills

  • An understanding and capacity to implement the principles underpinning anti-discrimination, student equity, workplace health and safety and all other relevant legislation

  • Demonstrated ability to respond in creative, adaptive and sensitive ways to challenges as they emerge.
